Across centuries, master joiners in Egypt and the Arabian Gulf understood that wood shrinks, swells, and breathes with seasonal humidity. Instead of fighting nature with synthetic glues or mechanical screws, they invented complex floating tenons and self-locking mortises that move harmoniously with the timber.

Our founders—architects and guild woodworkers—witnessed the quiet erosion of this knowledge during the rise of flat-pack mass production. Fast furniture filled homes with composite dust and synthetic veneers designed to degrade within a decade. In direct resistance, NIJARAH was established with a singular manifesto: every piece leaving our benches must possess the structural integrity to be passed down through four generations.
